Families waiting for a luxury electric SUV with three usable rows now have a name to watch: Lexus TZ. The North American preview lists a preliminary 300-mile range, NACS charging and a 95.82-kWh battery. That is enough for comparison planning, not yet enough for a purchase budget.
Space may be the bigger story
Lexus lists preliminary cargo volume from 290 liters with all rows in use to 2,017 liters with the rear rows folded. A 3,500-pound towing target could suit a small trailer, but family shoppers should wait for final payload and seat-position details before combining passengers, luggage and tongue weight.
Charging is practical, not class-leading on paper
The planned 150-kW maximum and roughly 35-minute 10% to 80% session may work well for meal stops, though real speed depends on the charger and battery. Home charging and local electricity cost remain the more important weekly numbers for most owners.
Our take
The TZ could fill a real three-row gap, especially if the third row and cargo floor work together. For now, compare its preliminary measurements with existing family EVs and hybrids, but leave price, insurance and monthly-payment boxes blank until Lexus releases U.S. sales details.
