That 0% Silverado offer looks tempting—let’s check the full five-year cost

A low rate can save real money, but the truck still brings fuel, tires, insurance and a very real purchase price. Put the whole deal on one page first.

A zero-percent headline can remove thousands of dollars of interest from a large truck purchase, but it does not automatically make the truck affordable—or make it the lowest total-cost option. The vehicle price, down payment, taxes, fees, trade value, insurance, fuel and depreciation remain in the household budget.

What Chevrolet is advertising

Chevrolet’s current U.S. offers page features 0% APR for five years on the 2026 Silverado 1500 for well-qualified buyers who finance through GM Financial, plus a 90-day payment deferral. Availability and terms can change, and the exact vehicle, buyer and delivery date must qualify.

Compare financing and price separately

Ask for the out-the-door price before discussing the monthly payment. Then compare the manufacturer financing with a bank or credit-union preapproval using the same amount financed and term. A dealer discount may not be combinable with promotional APR.

A deferred payment is still a payment

Confirm when interest begins, the first due date, the number of payments and whether the loan term changes. Use the quiet 90-day period to preserve an emergency and repair reserve—not to add accessories or other debt.

The HomeCostGrid view

Buy truck capability only when the household regularly needs the bed, payload or towing. Price fuel, tires, parking and insurance next to the financing benefit, and keep every promised discount and eligibility condition in writing.
