Toyota has confirmed that the GRMN Corolla is more than a show-car rumor. The company expects limited sales in 2027, primarily in Japan, North America and Australia. For U.S. shoppers, that confirms direction—not a price, order date or dealer allocation.
What Toyota is developing
The prototype builds on motorsport and Nürburgring testing with changes to aerodynamics, cooling, chassis behavior and the GR-FOUR all-wheel-drive system. Toyota is also developing two-seat and five-seat concepts, including a GR Direct Automatic option, but market specifications can differ.
Avoid the allocation trap
Limited performance models can attract markups and speculative deposits. Ask whether a deposit is refundable, whether the dealer has a real allocation and whether the agreement caps the selling price. A social-media promise is not a production slot.
