What should you do with this number?

Can square footage determine HVAC size?

Not by itself. ENERGY STAR recommends a proper load calculation that considers climate, insulation, windows, leakage and the home’s layout.

Does a higher SEER2 always save money?

Efficiency can lower operating cost, but climate, runtime, electricity price, installation quality and the upfront premium determine payback.

Should ducts be replaced with the equipment?

Not automatically. Ask for leakage, static-pressure and airflow findings, then repair or redesign only the parts that limit performance.

Are incentives included?

No. Eligibility changes by address, equipment, income, tax status and installation date, so the result keeps incentives separate.

Should I replace HVAC with the same size?
